FIRMUS: firm, strong, reliable.

Greater St. Louis' premier solution to your remodeling and construction needs. Striving to provide the quality and attention to detail all customers deserve.

Owner, Matthew Jennings, gained his passion for woodworking and home remodeling at a young age. During his teenage years, Matthew began his career doing charity construction under his father, who owned a painting and remodeling company in Detroit, MI. In addition to doing charity work, Matthew also helped his father build their family home after school and on the weekends.

In his later teenage years, Matthew began working at a commercial construction company in Detroit, while also doing small projects for friends and family. During this time, Matthew gained substantial skills in framing and woodworking.

While spending most of his early life in Detroit, Matthew later moved to Philadelphia, PA to pursue his undergraduate degree in business at Philadelphia Biblical University. While in college, Matthew pursued an opportunity with a local high-end painter/ finish- work specialist.  Matthew says it was through this incredible learning experience that he became the true finish CRAFTSMAN he is today.

Matthew would later move to New Jersey to become a co-owner at the original FIRMUS Woodworking Company. As an owner, Matthew filled the role of project manager, while working extensively with intricate CUSTOM home remodels, finish woodworking, and furniture building.

After 2 years in New Jersey, Matthew moved to St. Louis, MO to be closer to family. Upon arrival, Matthew worked for R&A Contracting as a project manager.

Finally, in July of 2014, after working a year at R&A Contracting, Matthew decided to launch his dream company doing what he does best: custom home builds/ remodels, finish work, and furniture. This was the start of FIRMUS Contracting Solutions!

Matthew is happily married to his beautiful wife, Lisa, and has a baby girl. FIRMUS also has a rambunctious shop dog named Sampson, who provides daily entertainment and frustration.

When not working, Matthew enjoys spending time with family, eating a quality meal (considers himself a "foodie"), and is a sucker for a good chick-flick (no shame).
